Al-Sudani Launches Implementation of Al-Nasiriyah Combined-Cycle Power Plant Project

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani launched the implementation of the Al-Nasiriyah Combined-Cycle Power Plant Project. Media Office of the Prime Minister said in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency INA that Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani officially launched today, Monday, the implementation of the Al-Nasiriyah Combined-Cycle Power Plant Project, with a generation capacity of 921 megawatts powered by natural gas. The launch took place during his visit to Dhi Qar Province, where he arrived earlier this morning. The statement added that 'The project, implemented by the German company Siemens, is located on the grounds of the existing Al-Nasiriyah Steam Power Plant. It is considered one of the key initiatives aimed at boosting power generation across Iraq's national grid. The plant will operate on natural gas, with the potential to incorporate hydrogen blending technology in the future.'
