Hamas and Israel Resume Indirect Talks in Doha Without Preconditions
A senior Hamas official confirmed that a new round of indirect negotiations with Israel began on Saturday in Doha, Qatar, with both parties entering the discussions without setting any preconditions. Taher al-Nunu, a senior advisor to Hamas leadership, stated that the group is prepared to engage in comprehensive dialogue. 'This round of negotiations began without any preconditions from either side, and the negotiations are open to discussing all issues,' he said. Al-Nunu emphasized that Hamas will focus its proposals on three core issues: a complete ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, and a prisoner exchange agreement. The resumption of talks comes amid ongoing international pressure to end the months-long conflict in Gaza, which has resulted in significant humanitarian concerns and global calls for de-escalation. Negotiators from Qatar, Egypt, and the United States are reportedly mediating the discussions, though no breakthrough has been announced yet.

Hamas ready for long-term ceasefire under one condition
ALBAWABA - It was stated by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) that they are prepared to participate in a long-term ceasefire with Israel. Also Read Footage shows Al-Qassam sniper operations against Israeli soldiers For the purpose of putting an end to the current conflict in Gaza, they proposed a five-year ceasefire as well as a comprehensive prisoner exchange agreement. It was stated by Al Jazeera that the statement was made at the same time as Egyptian mediators were meeting with Hamas officials in Cairo to discuss attempts to establish a full ceasefire. Tahir Al-Nunu, who serves as the media adviser to the Chief of the Hamas Political Bureau, has acknowledged that the movement is willing to negotiate a ceasefire. However, he has highlighted that disarmament is not an option at this time. In an interview with Al Jazeera, Al-Nunu claimed that Hamas would take into consideration genuine offers aimed at bringing an end to the conflict; nonetheless, regardless of the circumstances, the organization would not give up its weapons. He referred to these weapons as "a red line" for the resistance so long as the Israeli occupation continues. Hamas is reportedly seeking backing from mediators for their offer, which suggests a ceasefire duration between five and seven years, along with the restoration of Gaza and a wide prisoner exchange, according to sources close to the discussions who spoke to Reuters. Despite this, Israel continues to insist on the complete release of captives as well as the disarming of Hamas and other groups, which is a demand that Hamas has categorically refused. A meeting between Hamas officials and Egyptian officials is scheduled to take place today in Cairo, according to Al Jazeera. The Hamas delegation will be headed by senior official Khalil Al-Hayya. A source inside Hamas who spoke with AFP said that there was not yet a formal ceasefire plan that had been formally filed by Saturday morning. However, major ideas had been discussed during previous sessions with mediators. — Asharq News الشرق للأخبار (@AsharqNews) April 26, 2025 However, the humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to be very precarious. Al Jazeera received reports from Palestinian sources that Israeli soldiers carried out demolition operations in communities located in the eastern part of Gaza City. These districts included Shuja'iyya and Tuffah. The Israeli military is continuing its ground gains while also preventing the flow of supplies that is desperately needed into the war-torn Strip. It has been over 2,000 Palestinians who have been murdered and about 4,500 who have been wounded since the beginning of hostilities on March 18. Since October 7, 2023, the overall number of victims has reached 51,495 killed and 117,524 injured, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, which validated the information.

Hamas to Free Hostages if Gaza War's End Guaranteed, Senior Official Says
A senior Hamas official stated that the group is ready to release all Israeli hostages under the conditions of ending the war in Gaza and implementing a 'serious prisoner swap,' according to Arab News. Currently, the Palestinian group is engaged in negotiations in Cairo with mediators from Egypt and Qatar which are both collaborating with the United States to carry out a permanent ceasefire in Gaza. 'We are ready to release all Israeli captives in exchange for a serious prisoner swap deal, an end to the war, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip and the entry of humanitarian aid,' Taher Al-Nunu, a senior Hamas official, said. In the same context, Al-Nunu accused Israel of halting the progress toward a ceasefire, explaining that the Israeli occupation is breaking the deals and resuming its aggression against civilians. 'Hamas has therefore stressed the need for guarantees to compel the occupation (Israel) to uphold the agreement,' he added. Hamas has received a new proposal, according to Israeli news website Ynet. The deal stipulates that Hamas should release 10 living hostages, while US guarantees that Israel would enter negotiations for a second phase of the ceasefire. Importantly, Al-Nunu stressed that Hamas would never disarm, which contradicts with Israel's key condition to end the war. 'The weapons of the resistance are not up for negotiation,' Al-Nunu said. Since the beginning of Hamas-Israel War in Gaza, the Israeli occupation has killed at least 50,695 Palestinians and wounded 115,338 more, according to Gaza's Health Ministry. Hamas says offered to free all civilian captives early in the war before Bibas family shelled
CAIRO – 21 February 2025: Hamas said it wanted to release all civilian captives immediately in the early days of the Israeli war on Gaza without any conditions, asserting that Tel Aviv, however, rejected their offer. 'All the civilian captives were alive at that time,' said Taher Al-Nunu, media advisor to Hamas' political bureau, in remarks to Al Jazeera on Friday. 'We wanted to release the civilians immediately and without any conditions in the early days of the war, and we clearly stated that we wanted a ceasefire so we could deliver all the civilians,' he stressed. Al-Nunu noted that Hamas engaged in discussions on this matter despite Israeli obstinacy until both sides reached an initial ceasefire in November 2023. During that time, he mentioned, the movement offered to hand over the Bibas family, who were killed shortly before that. 'We wanted to deliver the mother and the bodies of the two sons as part of the framework of the deal,' Al-Nunu said, placing blame on the Israeli army for bombing the residential area that housed the family. These remarks come as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed revenge on Friday, claiming that Hamas provided a wrong body of Shiri Bibas yesterday as part of the ongoing ceasefire between both sides in Gaza. Netanyahu described the incident as a 'cruel and malicious violation' of the ceasefire agreement, while Hamas says that the body of Shiri Bibas, handed over along with her two children, may have been mixed with other bodies killed by Israel. Hamas stated it is conducting an investigation into the possible mix-up, with Al-Nunu attributing the incident to the lack of DNA testing capabilities, which Israel has destroyed during the war, and the intense Israeli bombardment on residential areas. 'The occupation army bombed a residential area while knowing there might be a family or a group of civilian captives in that location,' Nunu said. 'Tens of thousands of Palestinian children have been killed, and their remains have mixed together.' He requested the entry of equipment necessary to recover the bodies of deceased Palestinians and Israeli captives, as well as the required DNA testing equipment. Hamas is set to release six living captives on Saturday, double the number initially agreed upon in the swap. This group of six captives represents the last set to be freed under the first phase of the ceasefire, which expires in early March. The list of names of captives to be released tomorrow, as announced by Hamas, includes Hisham Al-Sayed and Avera Mengistu, who were captured in 2014 and 2015 after crossing into Gaza. Other captives to be released are Eliya Cohen, Tal Shoham, Omer Shem Tov, and Omer Wenkert. Hamas still holds dozens of captives in Gaza, set to be released during the next phase of the deal, which has yet to be agreed upon. In exchange, Israel is expected to release more than 600 Palestinian prisoners and detainees on Saturday, including hundreds detained during the war and dozens serving life sentences.
