Egypt's Bus Rapid Transit system now live on Ring Road
The Egyptian Transport Ministry has officially opened the first phase of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project to the public on the Ring Road around Greater Cairo, starting on Sunday.
The project comes in implementation of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's directives to quickly complete the project and expand sustainable green transportation.

Headway Time
The Transport Ministry will operate 100 air-conditioned electric buses during this phase.
The headway time (time interval between buses) will be approximately three minutes, reaching only 1.5 minutes during peak times.
This will ensure smooth traffic flow and provide citizens with a fast and safe means of transportation throughout the day.
The project aims to provide a civilized and safe means of public transportation, contributing to reducing traffic congestion and improving air quality, as part of the state's plan to transition to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation system.
