Bomb threat prompts safe landing, investigation at Kuwait airport
Kuwait – Saba:
Kuwait's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) announced on Sunday that a bomb threat was reported on board Gulf Air flight GF213, which was scheduled to depart from Kuwait.
According to Kuwaiti media, the threat was immediately addressed using established security procedures and protocols at Kuwait International Airport, in close coordination with the Ministry of Interior and other relevant authorities. The plane landed safely, and all passengers were successfully disembarked.
DGCA spokesperson Abdullah al-Rajehi confirmed that all passengers are currently in an isolated lounge, are in good health, and suffered no adverse effects.
He added that passengers and crew are undergoing security measures in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the DGCA to ensure their safety and the aircraft's integrity. Scheduled flights at Kuwait International Airport were not impacted.
Al-Rajehi also stated that the individual responsible for reporting the threat has been detained, and security measures are ongoing to ensure the highest levels of safety.
