Team Effort Commended He commended Sharjah FC's efforts, led by His Excellency Khalid Al Midfa, as well as the players and Romanian coach Cosmin Olăroiu, for successfully navigating the significant challenges of the return leg. Their achievement, he noted, was attributed to the team's strong identity, high morale, and determination to reach the final despite a demanding schedule. Praise for local and international efforts Following the meeting, Al Hazami praised the efforts and initiatives of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, both locally and internationally in sports and non-sports fields. He affirmed that the University of Sharjah reflects the emirate's culture and vision through its international activities and events. He assured that Sharjah will continue its tradition of hosting global championships and events, providing the World Powerlifting Championship and its participants with all guarantees for organizational and technical success. He welcomed cooperation with the International University Sports Federation, while the Secretary-General of the Federation commended the sports infrastructure in Sharjah in general and the facilities and stadiums of the University of Sharjah in particular. University of Sharjah's successful bid The University of Sharjah won the right to host and organise the World Powerlifting Championship 2026 after its bid outperformed competitors. Recently, the Secretary-General of the Federation and his accompanying delegation handed over the championship flag to Professor Hamid Majoul Al Nuaimi, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah.
