The Mahfooza Al-Zayani Humanitarian Award Celebrates Champions of Social Work
TDT | Manama The Mahfooza Al-Zayani Humanitarian Award honored the nation's most inspiring figures in community service, celebrating outstanding contributions to humanitarian work in Bahrain. The prestigious accolade, held in a grand ceremony, highlighted the power of giving and the impact of dedicated individuals and teams striving to make a difference. Recognizing Excellence in Humanitarian Work Among the evening's highlights was the posthumous recognition of Sheikha Lulwa bint Mohammed Al Khalifa as Humanitarian Personality of the Year for her enduring legacy in philanthropy and social welfare. The award for Outstanding Student in Humanitarian Work was presented to the IMPACT TEAM from Al Hekma International School, recognizing their dedication to charitable initiatives and social engagement. Beyond the awards, the ceremony coincided with a groundbreaking announcement: Bahrain has successfully completed the first-ever international case of sickle cell anemia treatment using CRISPR gene-editing technology. This medical milestone, revealed during a press conference by the Ministry of Health and the Royal Medical Services, cements Bahrain's position at the forefront of global healthcare innovation.
