‘Our Eid With Them'... SSSD's celebrations spread joy on Eid
Programs for all groups The Care and Protection Sector includes several departments and centers that focus on helping different groups of people. This ranges from homes for children, the elderly, and women who have experienced abuse, to centers that provide support for elderly services, child protection, families, people with disabilities, and mental health patients. During Eid celebrations, the sector organizes fun activities tailored to these diverse groups, creating a joyful environment where they can celebrate the holiday with their families. Spreading joy to all Al Qatari announced that the Eid celebrations will reach beyond just community centers. They will also include activities at the homes of elderly individuals who receive support from the Senior Citizens Services Center, making sure everyone can join in the festivities, even if they have trouble getting out. There will be special events for children at the Family Forum as well, featuring fun activities for kids with vision impairment and for families who are going through divorce. At the nursing home, there will be a special program called "Khattar Al Dar." This event allows seniors to spend time with their families and join in on fun activities. They will be given special clothes for Eid, along with perfumes and gifts, making it a joyful and memorable occasion. Recreational activities and group breakfast At the Child Protection Center and Dar Al Aman, children received new clothes to celebrate Eid. The celebration included a big outdoor breakfast, talks about religion and health, fun trips, and gifts for everyone. The goal was to create a joyful and festive atmosphere for all.

" Khuttar Al-Dar" Initiative to strengthen bonds with seniors
Al Qatari noted that the initiative's goal is to integrate the elderly into the community, strengthen ties, and reaffirm traditional values. These behaviours and ties have been and continue to be a long-time part of Emirati society. She also emphasised the importance of this project in encouraging community cohesion and establishing communication with the elderly by spending time with them and listening to their lovely stories from the past, thereby benefiting from their wisdom and boundless contributions. They represent the previous generation, which was full of goodness and happiness. Al Qatari stressed that this relationship has a tremendous impact on the spirits of the senior inhabitants and the visitors.

Members aged 60 and above prepare gift boxes with items such as jalabiyas, perfumes, and kanduras, separated into categories for men and women. Sales and positive psychological impact The first sales visits began at the department's headquarters, with the initiative set to extend across various government and private institutions. Al Qatari emphasised the psychological benefits, as the project helps reduce isolation, enhances self-reliance, and boosts morale. All proceeds will support medical needs and equipment for the elderly care home residents. "Made by Their Hands" highlights the invaluable contributions and capabilities of the elderly, showcasing their empowerment and role in society.
