The FDF ensured that the solutions listed in the guide - from the accessible doorways to motion sensors and emergency alert systems - were realistic, feasible, and culturally appropriate, a top official of the foundation told Aletihad . The FDF's 'Safe Home Preparation Guide' for senior citizens was put together to create safer and more accessible home environments for the elderly. The initiative reflects the vision of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the Mother of the Nation, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF). Speaking to Aletihad , Mariam Mohammed Al Rumaithi, Director-General of the FDF, said the foundation relied "on a set of integrated principles and strategies that ensure successful execution with lasting impact". The FDF's studies pinpointed common hazards in seniors' living spaces. To ensure that the safety solutions were realistic, the foundation took "a participatory approach that brought together senior citizens, their family members, and other relevant stakeholders", Al Rumaithi manual provides important suggestions for lowering hazards and improving home comfort. Financial NMDC achieves record growth in 2024 By Revenues in excess of US $7bn and a 43% increase in profits hallmarked an exceptional year for the Abu Dhabi conglomerate NMDC Group said that it has delivered solid results for FY 2024, achieving an exceptional 57% year-on-year growth, with its revenues hitting US $7.2bn. Announcing its full year financial results for 2024, NMDC Group said its net profit after tax rose 44% compared to 2023. Earnings per share rose by 36% and up by 59% compared to year-end 2023. 2024 was marked by the expansion of the NMDC family, as the Group launched a new entity, NMDC LTS, to focus on the regional demand for logistics and services. This was closely followed by the strategic announcement of the acquisition of a controlling stake in Emdad, marking NMDC Group's first entry into oilfield services. Furthermore, NMDC Group grew its net profits in 4Q24, reflecting a 43% increase compared to the same period in 2023. This strategy emphasises engaging community members and stakeholders in the planning and development of its services, aiming to enhance the quality of social services in alignment with the needs of the beneficiaries in the Emirate of Abu the importance of such an approach, Her Excellency Mariam Mohammed Al Rumaithi, Director General of the FDF, stated that the foundation has successfully completed a series of social surveys this year. These studies, being conducted since 2018, carefully assess the needs of families across the Emirate, ana lyse family unity in communities located around FDF centres in Abu Dhabi and identify important social challenges to be tackled through awareness programs based on community feedback. The social research also helps identify specific social services that families require, ensuring efficient delivery of personalised services that are easily accessible within residential areas. Such a targeted approach enables FDF to offer tailored solutions that address pressing social issues, further promoting the development of socially transformative services. H.E. Her Excellency also underscored the pivotal role of these studies in identifying the requirements of residents and ensuring that FDF's programs are consistently improved to align with their evolving needs. Furthermore, Muneera Majed Al Ali, Director of the Studies and Research Department at FDF, said that the specially designed surveys were developed by FDF's social specialists, in collaboration with the Statistics Center – Abu Dhabi to ensure scientific accuracy. The research included 18,000 individuals of both genders and relied on descriptive analytics as well as advanced statistical tools to generate interactive visual reports. She also listed key recommendations derived from these studies, such as developing family awareness programs, improving family and psychological support services, as well as providing social services addressing each region's specific needs.
