Menna Shalaby-Led Play "Shams & Qamar​" to Be Restaged in KSA on April 1

Yara Sameh Egyptian actress Menna Shalaby's musical play "Shams & Qamar​" will be restaged from April 1-4 at City Walk Arabic Theater in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The play debuted in November 2024 within the activities of the 5th edition of the Riyadh Season in Saudi Arabia. The cast also includes Elham Abdelbadea, Donia Sami, Mahmoud El Leithy, Mohamed Abd El Azim, and more. "Shams & Qamar​" marks Shalaby's stage debut and sees her collaborating with screenwriter Medhat El Adl and director Ahmed Elbohy. The play's official synopsis reads: "Qamar, an ordinary Egyptian girl, exploits her striking resemblance to a famous actress on TikTok, but when the real star is accidentally kidnapped, Qamar finds herself forced to live in her own world amidst a whirlwind of tensions and crises, which puts each of them in an unexpected confrontation with their true identity." Shalaby, born on July 24, 1981, is the daughter of former belly dancer and actress Zizi Mustafa. She is one of the brightest actresses among the younger generation of Egyptian stars. The actress showed a passion for acting from a very early age, no doubt due to the exposure to the industry her mother's fame provided. Shalaby made her film debut in 'Al Saher' (The Magician) as Nour in 2001. She scored her next role alongside prominent actress Layla Elwy in the 2004 film 'Baheb El Seema'.
