Al Qasimia University celebrates graduation of 171 students
The number of graduates reached 171 male and female students, representing the university's five colleges: the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, the College of Arts and Humanities, the College of Economics and Management, the College of Communication, and the College of the Holy Quran. A Grand Ceremony at the University Theatre The ceremony took place at the university's theatre in Sharjah, in the presence of the Chairman and members of the Board of Trustees, the University Chancellor, Vice Chancellors and assistants, Deans of Colleges, members of the academic and administrative staff, along with a number of invited guests, ambassadors, and consuls accredited to the UAE. Opening with the National Anthem and Words of Gratitude The celebration, which took place, on Saturday, began with the playing of the UAE national anthem, followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. His Excellency Jamal Salim Al Turaifi, President of Al Qasimia University, then delivered a speech in which he extended the sincerest expressions of gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and Founder of Al Qasimia University, for his continuous and boundless support for the university. Al Turaifi affirmed that the university is now reaping the fruits of the blessed seed planted by His Highness and nurtured by his generous and enduring patronage. Graduation as a Milestone of a Noble Educational Journey Al Turaifi stressed that the graduation of this new group of students is a crowning achievement of an educational and humanitarian journey established by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, aiming to build an enlightened human being equipped with knowledge and noble values. He explained that Al Qasimia University stands as a scholarly and humanitarian project that contributes to spreading beneficial knowledge and promoting a culture of moderation, tolerance, and openness to others. He pointed out that the university has been keen to provide a high-quality education that combines authenticity with modernity, offering an environment that fosters academic and moral excellence, so its graduates may serve as ambassadors of knowledge and values within their communities. A Global Institution with a Decade of Achievement For his part, His Excellency Professor Awad Al Khalaf, Chancellor of Al Qasimia University, expressed his pride in graduating the ninth cohort of students, affirming that in just ten years, the university has succeeded in establishing itself as a globally recognised educational institution. This has been achieved through the adoption of modern academic programmes and obtaining international institutional accreditation from the Accreditation Service for International Colleges, Universities and Schools (ASIC). He noted that the university continues to move forward confidently toward further development and progress, in alignment with the vision of its founder, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi. Academic Success, Global Recognition, and Community Engagement Al Khalaf also highlighted several of the university's accomplishments during the 2024–2025 academic year, noting that Al Qasimia University has made significant strides in academic, research, and community service areas. It has attracted students from more than 130 nationalities, reflecting the trust students from around the world place in its mission and academic programmes. He added that the university organised several international scientific conferences and forums and strengthened its community partnerships through the launch of joint training programs. In addition, the university signed sixteen memoranda of understanding at the local, regional, and international levels, further enhancing its global academic standing.

Sharjah's Al Qasimia University board discusses new strategy
International recognition for institutional excellence At the start of the meeting, held, on Wednesday, the board praised the university for obtaining international institutional accreditation from the UK-based Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities (ASIC). The four-year accreditation (2025–2029) recognises Al Qasimia University as a leading educational institution excelling in eight key areas: governance and management, quality assurance, information systems, research and teaching activities, programmes and qualifications, campus life and student welfare, occupational health and safety, and marketing and student recruitment. Tribute to the founder and patron On behalf of the board, Al Turaifi extended the deepest gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his unwavering support since the university's inception. He noted that the Ruler's vision has enabled the university to raise its global profile, enhance the quality of its academic services, attract students from around the world, and develop its programmes to equip graduates for meaningful contributions to their nations' progress. New strategic plan unveiled The board approved the university's new strategic plan for 2025–2030. Anchored in both national and international benchmarks, the strategy is built on key pillars: teaching and learning, scientific research, student and alumni development, governance and institutional effectiveness, and engagement with society and industry. The plan embodies the university's vision to serve as a multicultural academic beacon on the global stage. Annual report highlights wide-ranging achievements Prof. Dr. Awad Al Khalaf, the University Chancellor, presented the annual report, highlighting accomplishments across education, research, and community service. Key initiatives included the opening of 11 Quran memorisation schools in Ghana and Senegal under the direction of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi, as well as the launch of the pilot phase of "Mubeen", a digital Arabic language learning platform. The university also hosted several international scientific conferences, signed numerous cooperation agreements with local, regional, and global institutions, and expanded its academic offerings. To date, students from 130 nationalities have enrolled at the university. Enhancing student experience and academic leadership The board reviewed committee reports on resource development, academic affairs, student recruitment, and international relations. It approved a number of faculty promotions and endorsed new initiatives to enrich the academic experience. These included extracurricular programmes aimed at sharpening students' skills and preparing them to meet future challenges and serve their communities effectively. Approval of graduation for class of 2025 In conclusion, the board approved the graduation of the university's ninth cohort for the academic year 2024–2025. A total of 171 students successfully met graduation requirements across the five faculties: Sharia and Islamic Studies, Arts and Humanities, Economics and Management, Communication, and the Holy Quran.

Bahrain Participates in High-Level Humanitarian Conference for Sudan
Addis Ababa: Bahrain, represented by Ambassador Ahmed Mohammed Al Turaifi, Chief of Arab and African Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Hassan Abdulaziz Murad from the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), participated in the high-level humanitarian conference for Sudan in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The conference took place on the sidelines of the 38th African Union Summit, facilitated by the African Union, IGAD, Ethiopia, and the UAE, drawing broad participation from countries and international organizations. According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Turaifi emphasized the importance of mobilizing regional and international support for Sudan's humanitarian response and coordinating efforts to ensure the unhindered delivery of urgent aid and the protection of relief workers. He highlighted Bahrain's call for a ceasefire during Ramadan to allow humanitarian assistance to reach those in need and create conditions for a serious dialogue leading to a lasting political solution. He also noted the need for continued cooperation with neighboring countries hosting large numbers of Sudanese refugees to ensure comprehensive support for affected families. Al Turaifi further stressed Bahrain's commitment to diplomatic efforts to encourage Sudanese parties toward an inclusive political settlement that preserves Sudan's unity and prevents escalation. He underscored the necessity for economic initiatives and infrastructure projects to support Sudan's recovery and stability, aligning with the outcomes of the Bahrain Summit, which highlighted Sudan's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. The summit urged Sudanese parties to engage with regional and international initiatives to resolve the crisis.
