Carney Launches "One Canadian Economy" Act
Taarek Refaat Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney unveiled sweeping legislation on Friday aimed at expediting the approval of infrastructure projects and removing long-standing internal trade barriers, as part of a broader effort to boost Canada's economic potential amid growing global uncertainty. The One Canada Economy Act, a cornerstone of the Carney government's economic growth agenda, aims to standardize regulatory processes and create a single domestic market across the nation, according to CBC Canada. "Canada has been a country that used to build big things," Carney said at a press conference. "But in recent decades, it's become much harder to build in this country." To address these concerns, the bill would reduce federal project approval times from five years to two by creating a single permitting office and applying a "one project, one review" standard to infrastructure proposals. Projects labeled "nation-building" by the federal cabinet, such as railways, ports, pipelines, and transit lines, would undergo streamlined evaluations that focus not on justification, but on implementation. Under the bill, these proposals must meet at least some of five criteria, including economic benefit, Indigenous participation, and contributions to climate goals, although officials emphasize that these are considerations, not strict thresholds. The new approach was prompted in part by concerns about regulatory paralysis that has slowed Canada's ability to bring natural resources to global markets. "When federal agencies considered a new project, their immediate question was: Why?" Carney said Friday. "With this bill, we'll instead ask ourselves: How?" The new legislation also addresses internal trade barriers, which economists estimate cost tens of billions of dollars in lost productivity and economic output annually. A key provision of the bill is the recognition of provincial standards for goods, services, and labor certifications as meeting the federal standard, although actual interprovincial movement would require the cooperation of provincial governments. read more CBE: Deposits in Local Currency Hit EGP 5.25 Trillion Morocco Plans to Spend $1 Billion to Mitigate Drought Effect Gov't Approves Final Version of State Ownership Policy Document Egypt's Economy Expected to Grow 5% by the end of 2022/23- Minister Qatar Agrees to Supply Germany with LNG for 15 Years Business Oil Prices Descend amid Anticipation of Additional US Strategic Petroleum Reserves Business Suez Canal Records $704 Million, Historically Highest Monthly Revenue Business Egypt's Stock Exchange Earns EGP 4.9 Billion on Tuesday Business Wheat delivery season commences on April 15 News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan

The company's said that data sent back from the spacecraft to mission control before landing was different from the issue behind the 2023 lunar mission failure. 'The data that we've been looking at — it wasn't exactly the same as we have seen from the first mission,' said Ispace's Chief Technology Officer Ryo Ujiie. The Hakuto-R spacecraft crash-landed during that trip after a software error caused the device to miscalculate its altitude. read more UAE's Lunar Mission Delayed to Tomorrow Twitter Lifts Trump's Account Ban Scientists Find Evidence Of 10،000 Black Holes Surrounding The Center Of The Milky Way Galaxy Greenhouse In Antarctica Able To Grow Vegetables Without Soil Or Sunlight Moving Over China: U.S. Is Again Home to World's Speediest Supercomputer Technology The 10 most expensive cars in the world Technology Top 10 fastest cars in the world Technology Lasers Could Make Computers 1 Million Times Faster Technology Smart technology taking control of our lives News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan

Here's Our First Look at "El Sellem Wel Teban" Sequel
Yara Sameh The first look at the sequel to the 2001 romance-drama film 'El Sellem Wel Teban' ('The Ladder and The Snake'), has finally been unveiled. The film stars Amr Youssef, Asmaa Galal, Dhafer L'Abidine, Nicole Saafan, and more. Tarek Alarian, the film's original director and co-writer, is also returning to helm the sequel. Alarian is directing the pic from a script written by Ahmed Hosny. The upcoming film is being touted to be entirely different from the first film, both in terms of visual style and character development. It reunites Galal and Youssef for the second time after collaborating in 2024's "Welad Rizk 3: El Qadya". The film also witness the fourth collaboration between Alarian and Youssef after the Welad Rizk franchise. The sequel was announced at the 7th edition of the El Gouna Film Festival in October 2024. The original film starred Hani Salama, Ahmed Helmy, Hala Shiha, Ragaa Al-Geddawy, Tarek El Tilmisany, and more. Alarian directed the pic from a script he co-wrote with Mohamed Hefzy. 'El Sellem Wel Teban' is centered around Hazem, a reckless young man, who fails at being a good husband and father. His life changes when he meets Yasmin, and they both face issues that force them to fall in love with each other. The film went through many stages during its preparations, during which Hefzy wrote the script in English. Al-Aryan was very enthusiastic about the project, which was different from the films available at that time. At one point, Ahmed El Sakka was nominated for the work, but he refused to star in it because he was not convinced by its plot. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan
