UAE medical team supports pilgrims at holy sites
Monitoring health from start to finish Dr Essam Al Zarouni, a member of the committee, confirmed that health monitoring begins before pilgrims leave the UAE and continues after their arrival in Saudi Arabia. This includes conducting medical examinations, administering preventive vaccinations, and offering health guidance to ensure that pilgrims perform their rituals safely. Emergency and hospital care Al Zarouni noted that in cases where a pilgrim's condition requires advanced care, they are promptly transferred to specialized hospitals in coordination with Saudi authorities. Even after the transfer, the committee's medical team continues to follow up on the patient's condition. Promoting health awareness The committee also prioritises health education, focusing on prevention of heat exhaustion, sunstroke, and respiratory infections. Pilgrims are provided with practical health tips and preventative measures to maintain their well-being and complete their Hajj rituals safely and comfortably.

Dubai Marina marine stations get air-conditioned waiting areas
Dubai Marina's marine transport stations now have fully air-conditioned and modern waiting areas, as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced the completion of the project's first phase. The new stations include Marina Promenade, Marina Terrace, Marina Walk, Marina Mall, and Marina Mall 1. They are fully equipped with modern facilities and services, such as free internet, live trip information screens, and an audio announcement system for clear communication. These stations feature innovative designs inspired by Dubai's traditional wooden abras, blending modern infrastructure with cultural heritage. The waiting areas are also fitted with surveillance cameras and fire alarm systems to ensure passenger safety. The project aims to better connect residents and visitors to key destinations, such as linking Marina Mall with nearby homes, metro stations, and tram lines, making public transport more convenient and reducing car use. Khalaf Balghzouz Al Zarouni, Director of Marine Transport at RTA, said, 'The Authority has implemented the Dubai Code for People of Determination in the design of waiting areas… such as providing smooth ramps and paths, and designing elevations according to their needs.' He also noted that five more stations are planned for the next phase. 'These stations will be built in accordance with the international standards adopted in the first phase,' Al Zarouni added.

"Saned" launches campaign to enhance alarm system efficiency
The campaign is launched as part of joint cooperation between the three entities to address technical faults in early warning systems, based on data provided by the "Aman" system. This system links fire alarm systems in facilities to the operations room of the General Directorate of Civil Defence and Saned's operations room, providing accurate data and indicators that contribute to the early detection of faults, with the goal of reducing response times to fire incidents. The first phase of the campaign focuses on buildings identified by Aman system reports as having technical malfunctions. Property owners and operators are being contacted and informed of the importance of adhering to periodic maintenance through companies approved by the Civil Defence, in order to ensure repairs are carried out and the efficiency of preventive systems is enhanced. Eng. Hamid Al Zarouni, Managing Director- Saned said: 'At Saned, we are committed to enhancing the efficiency of the public safety system in the Emirate of Sharjah through the early warning system 'Aman,' which stands as a top operational priority for us. It is considered one of the key pillars of the smart protection system implemented across buildings and facilities in Sharjah. The system plays a vital role in minimizing the risk and occurrence of fires by enabling rapid response from rescue and firefighting teams at the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority, thereby helping to prevent human and material losses through early fire detection.' Al Zarouni added: 'Our ongoing partnership with the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority and the Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority reflects our commitment to supporting government efforts in promoting proactive prevention practices and achieving the highest standards of safety and readiness to protect lives and property. It also contributes to building a safe and sustainable environment in the Emirate of Sharjah.' He also urged property owners, developers, and management and operations companies to swiftly contract with qualified and approved service providers to carry out and continue preventive maintenance operations, ensuring the protection of lives and assets. The Joint Committee affirmed that the campaign will continue across the emirate without a specified timeframe, and will be accompanied by ongoing performance evaluation and analysis to measure improvements in response times and system efficiency. The "Aman" system connects fire alarm systems in facilities directly to the operations room of the General Directorate of Civil Defence and Saned's operations center. This enables immediate notification in the event of a fire within a facility. The system employs advanced technology to accurately pinpoint fire locations upon occurrence and promptly alert the relevant emergency response teams. It is worth noting that Saned Facilities Management is a subsidiary of Sharjah Asset Management Company, the investment arm of the Government of Sharjah.

"Sharjah Children" enriches SCRF with over 70 activities
Marwa Al Zarouni emphasised the commitment of the Sharjah Children centers to participate in the 2025 Sharjah Children's Reading Festival (SCRF) with a diverse range of activities for festival visitors and members of the foundation. Al Zarouni explained in statements to "Sharjah 24" that the foundation's pavilion witnessed the launch of the "Reader of the Century" platform by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, aimed at enhancing knowledge awareness and fostering a love of reading among children aged 6 to 18.
