Woman killed in fiery central Alabama crash identified
AUTAUGA COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — A 35-year-old woman has been identified after she was killed in a fiery crash Feb. 12, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency on Saturday. Jaime Marler, of Deatsville, was fatally injured when the Buick Enclave she was operating left the roadway, hit a tree and became engulfed in flames. The crash happened on Autauga County 39 by Autauga County 87 around 8:15 p.m. that Wednesday. 78-year-old Beulah woman killed after dog attack in Lee County
BEULAH, Ala. (WRBL) – A Beulah woman has died after being attacked by a dog in Lee County, officials confirmed Tuesday. According to Lee County Coroner Daniel Sexton, Patricia Burt, 78, was pronounced dead at 10:21 a.m. CT on February 25, 2025, at Piedmont Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia. The deadly attack occurred around 5:00 p.m. CT on February 24 on Lee Road 356. Burt was transported to the hospital with critical injuries but did not have not released details regarding the dog involved or whether any charges may be filed. The Lee County Sheriff's Office is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack. Burt's body will be sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery for a postmortem examination. WRBL will provide updates as more information becomes available.
