Identity theft probationer caught with fraudulent IDs: Alameda PD
(KRON) — An Alameda resident on probation for felony identity theft was caught with multiple forms of fraudulent identification during a recent compliance check, police announced Wednesday. Alameda Police Department officers made the discovery after visiting the residence of the individual, who was not named by law enforcement. According to the department, officers conducting the probation compliance check found multiple fraudulent forms of identification, ID manufacturing equipment, refund checks, credit cards and blank checks. Narcotics were uncovered at the residence, police said, and a K-9 helped locate a firearm and ammunition. The probationer was arrested for multiple offenses related to the discovery. Alameda police searching for missing 8-year-old boy
Alameda police are searching for an 8-year-old boy last seen around 8:30 a.m. Saturday on the 400 block of Buena Vista Avenue. Theo'Darius Prickett was last seen in his home, in Pikachu underwear, though he may be wearing blue and black or white and black shoes, police said. He may be carrying a dark blue or navy backpack. The Alameda Police Department asked community members to keep an eye out for Theo'Darius and contact officers with any information at 510-337-8340. The boy likes to go to the amenities in the Summer House Apartments on Buena Vista Avenue and Poggi Street, police said. Officers from the Alameda Police Department and the city's Community Emergency Response Team are actively searching for Prickett, police said.

Toyota trucks targeted in rash of tailgate thefts: Alameda PD
(KRON) — The Alameda Police Department is investigating after it said the tailgates of Toyota Tacoma pickup trucks are being targeted in a string of thefts. Two people have been taken into custody in connection to the case, authorities said Monday. 'Recently, several reports have emerged regarding stolen truck tailgates believed to be resold through similar illegal activities,' Alameda PD wrote on social media. Detectives served a search warrant on April 3 at a residence outside of Alameda in connection to the thefts, according to police. Authorities said they uncovered several tailgates, thousands of dollars in cash and 'several firearms' along with ammunition in the search. Two people, who Alameda PD did not identify, were arrested in the case. 'Based on the stolen items and reports, Toyota Tacomas appear to be the primary target of these thefts,' the police department wrote. Detectives are working to contact the theft victims. Law enforcement advised truck drivers to park in a secured garage when possible, secure truck beds and valuables, reverse park into spaces and position the back end close to a wall or garage door when possible and ensure alarm systems are activated. Beloved Alameda police K-9 ‘Argo' passes away
(KRON) — A beloved police dog that served with the Alameda Police Department for five years has passed away, according to a post from the department. 'Argo' served the Alameda community from 2014 until 2019 until his retirement, Alameda PD said. During his years of service, police said Argo was involved in numerous community events, operations and narcotic detections along with his handler, Officer Dubon. Argo also won numerous awards for his tracking skills. Florida coach brings team to famed local staple ahead of March Madness matchup in SF Additionally, Argo played a 'significant role' in resolving numerous cases in Alameda, police said. Following his retirement, Argo enjoyed his days with his handlers' family, which were 'filled with love, many exciting jumps into pools, and a relaxing life as a beloved companion,' police said. 'We are forever grateful for K-9 Argo's service and the bond he shared with our department and the community,' police said. Driver plows car into Alameda's The UPS Store, taken to hospital
ALAMEDA, Calif. - The City of Alameda Fire Department is at the scene of a car into The UPS Store on Tuesday afternoon where the driver was injured. Fire officials posted a photo of a white BMW fully inside the store located at the 2600 block of Blanding Avenue. The department posted the photo at around 3:15 p.m. No patrons or bystanders were injured, officials said. The driver of the vehicle was taken to a hospital for their injuries. There was no update on their condition. A building inspector has been asked to come to the scene of the crash. Officials did not indicate why or what led to the driver crashing into the store.
