Penn Cambria wins game of runs as District 6 Tournament begins
TYRONE (WTAJ) — Basketball is game of runs, and Monday Penn Cambria got the last laugh in the Panthers' opening round matchup against Tyrone, beating the Golden Eagles 67-52.
Down double digits in the third quarter, Tyrone rallied to take a 42-41 late in the third. Golden Eagles junior Alayna Woomer led all players with 27 points.
But in that game of runs, Penn Cambria got the last one, a big one, outscoring Tyrone 24-9 over the final six minutes, as the Lady Panthers advance in the District 6, 4A tournament. Penn Cambria moves on to play Westmont on Wednesday. Tyrone ends its season finishing 11-12.
