Six charged in 2024 Alcoa apartment vandalism that caused $400k in damage
ALCOA Tenn. (WATE) — Six people are facing charges after new information helped police identify suspects in the vandalism of an apartment construction site in Alcoa that caused more than $400,000 in damage in April 2024.
Previously, 6 News reported that officers responded to the Ardmore Apartments construction site on April 1, 2024, where construction workers found appliances and light fixtures destroyed, flooding, and paint on carpet, hardwood flooring, walls and drains.

Alcoa Police announced the charges on Thursday, saying six people had been charged, and two of those six had been arrested. Warrants have been filed for the remaining four suspects.
The two who were arrested have been identified as Austin Sanford and Ryan Rowe. Alcoa police said both have been released. Rowe was released on a $10,000 bond and is expected in court on March 6. Sanford was released on a $20,000 bond and is expected in court on March 10.

Public assistance helped detectives follow new leads in the case, that led to the suspects being identified, Alcoa police said. APD thanked those who provided anonymous tips in the case and helped ensure that the people involved in the vandalism are held responsible.
In Thursday's release, Alcoa police also revealed that the vandalism caused more than $400,000 in damage and that the flooding on multiple floors was caused by broken toilets and pipes.
