'They know what we do, we know what they do.' Rivermen prepping for rival Storm in playoffs
PEORIA, Illinois (WMBD) – Once again, it's time for the SPHL playoffs. The defending President's Cup champion Peoria Rivermen start a quest for a repeat.
Game One of the opening round is Thursday night at Carver Arena against a very familiar rival, the Quad Cities Storm.
It's a team the Rivermen faced over a dozen times in the regular season, including just this past weekend.
Both sides are well aware of each other's strategies.
We played them 14 times this year. So they know what we do. We know what they do. It's just a matter of who wants it more. And then we'll see that on Thursday. It's going to be a great challenge to go against a team that has a few more veterans and that we, you know, we kind of battled all year and struggled a little bit against.

We're more focused on what we need to do. You know, obviously we know what they're going to bring. We know their strengths and weaknesses. So we're just going to play our game. That's what the fun part is. So I think the boys are just really excited to get going and yeah, I can't wait

Of the Rivermen's 40 wins in the regular season, 10 were against the Storm.
