Krasdale Foods on Tuesday unveiled a trio of executive changes, including the promotion of Corporate Controller Rob Gangemi to vice president of finance. Gangemi, who has worked at Krasdale since 2017, helped the New York-based grocery company develop more efficient and automated reconciliation of reports as well as created monthly updates for the CFO and president, according to the press release. In his new position, he will oversee the company's finance department. In addition, Krasdale said it has promoted Guillermo Fisher, who has worked at the company for more than four decades, to general manager of warehouse operations. In that role, Fisher will focus on equipping Krasdale's distribution center with new technology, including cloud-based systems and artificial intelligence. Krasdale also announced Tuesday that John Aleksandrowicz joined Krasdale as director of business initiatives in March. In this role, Aleksandrowicz identifies strategic growth opportunities for the company and collaborates with retail customers to drive sales, improve in-store execution and meet evolving consumer needs, according to the announcement. Prior to Krasdale, Aleksandrowicz was senior director of grocery, general merchandise, and health and beauty care sales and merchandising at retailer-owned co-op Allegiance Retail Services. The announcement about the appointments follows the death in March of Charles A Krasne, who was the company's second CEO and served in the top role for over 50 years. A team of executives led by President and Chief Operating Officer Gus Lebiak will continue to lead the company's strategy and day-to-day leadership, the company said at the time. Krasdale provides independent supermarkets with services such as grocery distribution, merchandising, marketing and financing. Along with its distribution business, the family-owned business runs several grocery banners, including C-Town, Aim and Bravo.
