‘Kick Drugs' anti-drug campaign set to reach Thiruvananthapuram district on May 14

Thiruvananthapuram: The statewide anti-drug campaign 'Kick Drugs', jointly organised by department of sports and Kerala State Sports Council, will reach Thiruvananthapuram district on Wednesday. An official meeting on the campaign planning was held at the Sports Council Hall under the chairmanship of sub-collector Alfred campaign, which began at Kasaragod on May 5, aims to highlight the role of sports in steering the younger generation away from drugs. To mark the occasion a mini marathon and a walkathon will be organised in mini marathon will start at 6am from Parassala to Neyyattinkara grama panchayat and will be flagged off by CK Hareendran, MLA. This will be followed by a walkathon. The day's events will conclude with a public meeting at 4pm at the Central Stadium, bringing attention to the importance of a drug-free society.
