Al-Wafa Bloc: Lebanon targeted to prevent it from gaining self-defense capabilities

Beirut - Saba: Member of the Al-Wafa' for the Resistance Bloc (the parliamentary bloc of Hezbollah), MP Ali Fayyad, affirmed that "Lebanon is facing systematic targeting aimed at preventing it from acquiring the ability to defend itself, its people, and its land." This came during a speech he delivered at a commemorative ceremony held by Hezbollah in the town of Meifdoun, honoring the martyr Muhammad Abdul Nabi Rihani from the southern town of Al-Taybeh. The event was attended by figures, activists, families of martyrs, and a crowd of locals. Fayyad pointed out that "some within [Lebanon] insist on playing the role of a Trojan horse," by paving the way for external political and military pressures on Lebanon—through continuously targeting the Resistance and holding it responsible for the current situation—and by rejecting the dialogue path adopted by the government as a framework for internal understanding and addressing core issues related to the country's stability. He noted that this political faction "practices the highest levels of subservience to external forces," ignoring repeated Zionist aggressions against civilians and border villages, as well as the enemy's non-compliance with UN Resolution 1701. He accused them of promoting a justificatory narrative that serves the enemy, pushing for confrontation between the army , the Resistance, exacerbating internal tensions, and deepening divisions—all with the aim of weakening both the government and the Resistance simultaneously. Fayyad added that "Lebanon is the target," clarifying that the ultimate goal of what is happening is "to confiscate Lebanon's sovereign decision-making independence and subject the country to external guardianship in all major issues—from governance to reforms, appointments, and administration." He emphasized that "targeting the Resistance is part of targeting sovereignty, independence, and national dignity," asserting that "both the sovereign, independent state and the Resistance are in the crosshairs." This underscores the necessity of maintaining understanding between the state and the Resistance, as they are "in the same boat." The statement by MP Ali Fayyad comes amid escalating tensions on the ground along Lebanon's southern border with occupied Palestine, as southern villages face continuous bombardment by the Israeli enemy, resulting in significant human and material losses. These developments coincide with ongoing internal divisions over the role of the resistance and the future of its relationship with state institutions, amid increasing international pressure to push Lebanon toward agreements that may compromise its national principles. MP Ali Fayyad: Lebanon facing external pressures to reshape its identity, Hezbollah ready to support reforms

MP Ali Fayyad of Hezbollah's Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc said Lebanon is facing more than just pressure over the group's weapons—he described it as an external attempt to reshape the country politically, culturally, and socially. He claimed that the United States and other foreign actors are interfering in nearly every aspect of Lebanese affairs, from political decisions and port security to the direction of financial and economic reforms and even efforts to push normalization with Israel. Fayyad argued that while the goals of the international community and some local actors—such as sovereignty, state-building, reform, and recovery—may sound appealing, the imposed path will not lead to any of those outcomes. He said Hezbollah is ready to support reforms, protect depositors' savings, and help rebuild public institutions, emphasizing that the group has no vested interests in the financial or banking sectors and nothing to lose from genuine reform.

MP Ali Fayyad says Hezbollah ready for state-led dialogue on unresolved issues

Hezbollah MP Ali Fayyad said the group is open to any internal dialogue launched by the Lebanese state to resolve outstanding issues, especially since recent official Lebanese positions have shown a clear awareness of the importance of dialogue in preserving domestic stability — something he believes is under threat from U.S. policies that serve Israel's interests. Speaking at a memorial for Hezbollah fighter Hassan Ali Rammal in Bir Hasan, Fayyad warned that U.S. pressure on the Lebanese Army to disarm Hezbollah, financial restrictions on Lebanon, efforts to block aid and reconstruction, and recent allegations about Beirut Port are all part of a broader attempt to bring Lebanon under U.S. control and shield Israel's actions — including its assassinations — from accountability. Fayyad also criticized certain Lebanese political and media figures for echoing these foreign positions, saying their rhetoric has crossed the line from political disagreement into open hostility. He argued that such behavior undermines coexistence and stability and weakens the efforts of the current leadership to navigate the country through this difficult period. He concluded by warning that these internal divisions are fueling dangerous tensions, especially when they touch on sensitive issues like national security, sovereignty, and the rights of key communities within Lebanon to live with dignity and safety.

Hezbollah MP: Army Along with Resistance Defend Lebanon, Preserve Stability

Member of Hezbollah's Loyalty to Resistance Parliamentary bloc MP Ali Fayyad stressed that the party's firm decision is to ensure that the resistance and the army remain together in the equation to defend the homeland and protect stability. In a mass funeral of Hezbollah fighters who embraced martyrdom all the way to Al-Quds in the southern border town of Al-Taybe, MP Ali Fayyad voiced Hezbollah's satisfaction to the unified official position of Lebanon in face of the pressure exerted by the US envoy organ Ortagus. 'We believe that the unity of the Lebanese position is an absolute necessity at this stage,' MP Fayyad addressed the mass funeral on Sunday, in remarks reported by Hezbollah's Media Relations Office. In this context, he underlined importance of 'firm resolve in confronting the policy of threats and intimidation' in a bid to face challenges and to be 'be on the right path to liberating our land and preserving our sovereignty.' Meanwhile, the Hezbollah lawmaker stressed that the resistance party will do every effort in the reconstruction, 'despite the obstacles put forward by the US and the Zionist entity.' 'The reconstruction is the Resistance's promise to its people. If some people think that obstructing reconstruction is about weakening the resistance, they are mistaken. Our people are fully aware of the malicious aims behind these calculations,' he warned. Kfarkila Border Town Bids Farewell to 50 Martyrs as Close Israeli Gunfire Kills Lebanese Army Soldier

Hezbollah and the Resistance supporters held on Sunday a massive funeral to mourn 50 martyrs in Kfarkila border town which has been confronting the Israeli barbarism since October 7, 2023. The mourners bade farewell to the martyrs who have been claimed by the Zionist aggression and confirmed commitment to the resistance path, disregarding the Zionist drones and occupation troops deployed near the town. Member of 'Loyalty to Resistance' bloc, MP Ali Fayyad, wondered how would the Lebanese government confront the Israeli violations amid the failure of the complaints to the ceasefire monitor committee. The Lebanese people have the right to be updated by the government on its plans to face this danger, MP Fayyad affirmed. Near Fatima Gate in Kfarkila town as well, the Zionist occupation forces opened fire, killing a Lebanese Army soldier and injuring a female citizen. Israeli occupation forces launched a mortar shell at the vicinity of Bastra Farm, South Lebanon, Al-Manar reporter said.
