State artists honored at Connecticut Arts Awards
HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — The Connecticut Arts Awards were held at the Infinity Music Hall in Hartford on Wednesday night.
The event recognized several honorees who are engaged in or support the arts here in Connecticut.

'I don't do what I do for recognition, but it's really cool for people to recognize what I am doing,' said Alicia C. Cobb of Bridgeport.
'Art saved me as a child,' Cobb continued. 'It's a thing that gave me a voice when I felt like I really didn't have one. And I feel like that's kind of what I'm kind of guiding kids through now, not just kids but also adults, kind of helping them find their creative voices and their way in the world.'
Organizers say the awards aim to support art making and art participation for everyone.
