Motorcyclist dies in South Bay crash
CHULA VISTA, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Wednesday in Chula Vista.
The collision occurred around 5:37 p.m. at the intersection of East Orange Avenue and Max Avenue, Sgt. Alicia McLaughlin with the Chula Vista Police Department said in a news release.
Authorities say a blue 2006 Kawasaki ZX-6R was traveling eastbound on East Orange Avenue when the rider hit the passenger side of a black 2023 Audi Q3 that was making a southbound turn on to Max Avenue from westbound East Orange.

The motorcyclist, a 47-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the Audi, a 34-year-old pregnant female from Chula Vista, and one-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries.
Police do not believe driving under the influence to be a factor in the collision.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
