Canton native, third-round draft pick Harold Fannin Jr., Browns agree to terms on contract

The Browns and another draft pick have come to an agreement on a deal. Tight end Harold Fannin Jr. and the Browns have agreed to a four-year, $6.7 million deal, a league source confirmed for the Beacon Journal. Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz was the first to report the deal. Advertisement Fannin, the Canton McKinley High School and Bowling Green State University product, was taken with the No. 67 pick in April's draft. He becomes the third draft pick to have agreed to terms with the Browns, joining second-round pick (No. 33 overall) Carson Schwesinger and fourth-round pick (No. 126 overall) Dylan Sampson. The Browns still have four draft picks still unsigned: first-round pick Mason Graham, second-round pick Quinshon Judkins, third-round pick Dillon Gabriel and fifth-round pick Shedeur Sanders. They can participate in the offseason program without a contract, but must be signed by the start of training camp in July. Fannin comes into the league off one of the most impressive individual college seasons by a tight end in history. He led FBS Division I college football in receptions (117) and receiving yards (1,555), with 10 touchdowns. A 2022 graduate of McKinley High School, Fannin was an All-Ohio safety for the Bulldogs as a senior. He converted to tight end at Bowling Green, where he had 80 career catches for 2,396 yards and 17 touchdowns. Mineral Ridge record-holder earns Student Athlete of the Week

MINERAL RIDGE, Ohio (WKBN) – If you ask Mineral Ridge senior Dominic Pappagallo, there's always room for more improvement. 'If you think you're working hard, you can always work harder,' Pappagallo said. He strives for more even as a four-time state qualifier in cross country while also placing top 10 three times, earning All-Ohio honors each time. To cap it all off, Pappagallo broke the school record with a 15:43 5K in his final race at the OHSAA State Meet. 'It was really satisfying because I knew it was always something there, but I didn't really know I could actually get it,' Pappagallo said. 'But when it happened, like it was so rewarding, it felt good.' On top of being a cross country and track state qualifier, he is just as good in the classroom with a perfect 4.0 grade point average. 'I've always put school first, so I'm always hard working with that. I'm also in my college classes right now,' Pappagallo said. 'So I have a pretty good group of friends where we constantly work hard in the classroom, and then I'm always getting out here to get my workouts in right after.' The class president is also part of the band, the National Honor Society, the History Club and the Beta Club while also volunteering time with Angels for Animals. 'I just wanted to push myself in the classroom and out so I mean, my parents are teachers,' Pappagallo said. 'So they always motivated me to get good grades so I kind of just always stuck with it.' Pappagallo's name will go down in history at Mineral Ridge with the conference two-mile record and as a two-time Trumbull Country champion in cross country, but there's so much more that goes into it for Pappagallo. 'I always motivate others to step out of their comfort zone and do more. The more you're involved in, the more you're having fun,' Pappagallo said. 'You've got to make the most of high school, so the more you put into it, the more you're going to get out. Ohio State basketball adds another scoring option transfer for next season

Ohio State basketball adds another scoring option transfer for next season The Ohio State basketball roster continues to take shape. The latest news comes from the transfer portal with the addition of 6-foot-8-inch Wright State forward Brandon Noel. Originally out of Lucasville, Ohio, Noel will have one year of eligibility left and adds an additional scoring option from a player who averaged 19 points per contest for the Raiders last season. That is, as long as those scoring abilities translate to the rough and tumble Big Ten. He went to high school not too far away from Ohio State, just down Route 23 in Chillicothe, where he was an All-Ohio First Teamer his senior year. Noel also showed great shot selection as evidenced by his 55.2% field goal percentage. He can knock the three down a little, having posted a 35.8% clip during the 2024-2025 season, and will get on the boards as well, having pulled down 7.7 rebounds per game. In other words, head coach Jake Deibler and company should be getting a versatile guy that can help them in multiple ways. The addition of Noel brings the total of transfer portal additions to three so far. The Buckeyes also received commitments from the portal from Gabe Cupps of Indiana and Christopher Tilly of Santa Clara. Ohio State may not be done adding to the roster, and as more news becomes available, we'll bring it to you.
