Springboro's Jordan Hobbs picked No. 34 overall to Seattle Storm
SPRINGBORO, Ohio (WDTN) – The third Dayton-area product who heard her name called during Monday's WNBA Draft was Springboro's Jordan Hobbs.
The Michigan guard was taken by the Seattle Storm as the No. 34 overall pick in the third round.
Hobbs joins Fairmont's Maddy Westbeld (No. 16 to Sky) and Wayne's Bree Hall (No. 20 to Fever) as the Miami Valley's representation in this year's draft.
Hobbs became the ninth Michigan women's basketball player to be drafted overall, and the third in the last four years.
The 6-foot-3 guard started all 34 games for the Wolverines this past season and averaged 13.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists in a team-leading 31.4 minutes per game. S
She was also recognized as a member of the All-Big Ten honorable mention team by both coaches and media.
The former Panthers star averaged 17.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game her senior year of high school and helped lead Springboro to a district title during the 2020-2021 season.
Hobbs was a two-time All-State Second-Team selection and two-time First-Team All-Southwest Ohio honoree.
