It's been a picture-perfect start to the 2025 season for the Minnesota Lynx. The defending Western Conference champs are showing no signs of slowing down, opening the year with an 8-0 record.

Their latest victory came Tuesday night in a dominant 88-65 home decision over the Phoenix Mercury.
Minnesota has shown great balance, but one player continues to stand out: Kayla McBride. The sharpshooter stretches defenses and creates problems from beyond the arc.

While that's great news for McBride, it represents unfortunate timing for another veteran: Indiana Fever forward DeWanna Bonner.
Bonner had a quiet night in Indiana's 85-76 win over the Washington Mystics, scoring just nine points in 20 minutes. She hit one 3-pointer but saw McBride go past her on the all-time 3-pointer list when the Lynx star hit three treys.

Meanwhile, McBride was one of four Lynx players in double figures. She put up 13 points on 5-for-8 shooting, added seven assists and pulled down four rebounds.

McBride, 32, played her college ball for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and entered the league in 2014 as the No. 3 overall pick by the San Antonio Stars. She has played for three franchises and spent several offseasons playing overseas.
Her climb up the WNBA's all-time 3-point list puts her in elite company. She now trails Kristi Toliver by 21 makes. To tie sixth-place Katie Douglas, she needs 97 more threes. To move into fifth ahead of Tina Thompson, she needs 119.

McBride and the unbeaten Lynx will hit the road Sunday to take on the Dallas Wings.
