Howard "Buck" Wormington Howard Buck" Wormington, age 90,
Feb. 22—Howard "Buck" Wormington Howard Buck" Wormington, age 90, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A life-long New Mexican, he was born February 3, 1935 in Arrey, New Mexico; the son of Don and Maggie Wormington. Howard served in the U.S. Army where he was a marksman and a member of the competitive rifle team, placing third in the All Army competition in 1956. After leaving the military, he became a mechanical engineer working for Sandia Labs, Honeywell, and various other companies. One of Howard's proudest accomplishments was his 46 years of volunteering for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. He loved ballooning and the ballooning community. He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Audrie, the love of his life; it is fitting that he joined her on Valentine's Day. He is also preceded in death by his daughter April, his parents, and siblings. He is survived by his daughter Becky Kvech (spouse David), Granddaughter Amy Simpson, Grandson Jared Randall, six great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Making it to the age of 90, Howard would jokingly say that he was preceded in death by everyone. Howard touched many lives and believed in always helping others in need. He modeled humanity though his kindness, compassion for others, sense of humor, and love of life. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
