Foodie icon Ruth Reichl comes to Henrico
Ruth Reichl, the celebrated food writer and longtime restaurant critic for the New York Times, will be in Henrico on Thursday to promote her new book.
Why it matters: The event is open to the public, completely free and a rare chance to meet a living legend.
Driving the news: The event, " An evening with Ruth Reichl," is part of Henrico's "All Henrico Reads" program, which encourages the community to read a book together and discuss it.
The latest book is Reichl's " The Paris Novel," which follows a young woman who recently came into an "unusual inheritance" as she navigates the streets and food of Paris in the 1980s.
The story was inspired by a chapter in her memoir, which her editor recommended she turn into a novel, Reichl told Richmond Magazine's Eileen Mellon.
