Hollywood couple reveal plans to quit US for new life in London
A-list Hollywood couple John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are looking to swap Los Angeles for London in search of a 'colder place' to live. The music icon, 46, and TV presenter, 39, currently reside in Beverly Hills with their children Luna, nine, Miles, seven, Esti, two, and Wren, one. But they could be looking to make the big move across the pond after celebrating Christmas in London for the last couple of years. Legend opened up about how the family 'loves' the city, and would 'definitely consider' relocating to the UK. 'We love it here. Chrissy loves it, and the kids love it. We spent our last Christmas here, and two or three Christmases ago, we were here as well,' he told The Sun. 'We like to be in a colder place. We don't like to be in Los Angeles for Christmas. 'We always talk about the possibility of moving to New York or London. Those are two cities that we would definitely consider living in. We love walking cities.' It comes after the All Of Me hitmaker revealed his wife was looking to move from Los Angeles permanently over the risk of wildfires. Wildfires that ripped through the city earlier this year saw thousands of people displaced from their homes, 17,000 buildings destroyed, and at least 29 people killed. 'Every time nature shows its wrath, we wonder if it's time to head back east. Who knows?' he told The Wall Street Journal. He added: 'When the Sunset fire began to expand on January 9, the danger felt too close for comfort.' They wouldn't be the first major US celebs to move to the UK of late, with Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi relocating to the Cotswolds following President Donald Trump's re-election. Model and TV personality Chrissy Teigen sparked fears from fans after she shared an image of herself with her face bandaged from chin to forehead. The Lip Sync Battle host, 39, shared a video to her Instagram stories last week in which she appeared to be reclining in bed with a beige bandage wrapped around her head. Offering no context, she must have sparked worries from concerned followers, as she offered an explanation soon after, revealing the reason for the bandages. As it turned out there was no cause for concern – Chrissy had just undergone a routine hairline lowering procedure. The star is no stranger to cosmetic surgery, once admitting that 'everything is fake except my cheeks.' During a 2017 interview with Byrdie, she is said to have pointed to her forehead, nose and lips and commented: 'fake, fake, fake.' Chrissy can now add her lowered hairline to that list. Sharing a snap of a series of stitches to her stories, she wrote: 'Hi friends! A lot of you are wondering about my hospital pic which is very understandable as I gave no explanation, lol.' She continued: 'I had a hairline lowering procedure. Lost a lot in the front from babies and it's just very thin up there. When you see it on a [red] carpet it's ALWAYS extensions.' The media personality previously spoke of having her 'armpits sucked out,' telling Byrdie: 'I had an armpit sucked out, which was one of the best things. It's a big secret, but I don't care. As fans shared their concern at the colour of the bath water, she re-iterated: 'The water is dirty because I'm getting my body makeup off, like I said in the video my sweet angels!' John Legend On Kanye West's Downfall
If you watch a Kanye West live performance from the early 2000s, it's possible that you might spot a young John Legend somewhere in the background. Yep, long before he was the EGOT winner he is today, John got his big break thanks to his close ties to Kanye, serving as his backing singer and keyboard player. For many years, John and Kanye were incredibly close, both professionally and personally, as were their wives, Kim Kardashian and Chrissy Teigen. However, around the time Kanye first publicly endorsed Donald Trump in 2016, it seems a rift began to form between the two artists. In 2018, Kanye memorably shared a screenshot of a text exchange between himself and John where the All Of Me singer was encouraging him to 'reconsider aligning' himself with Trump. 'You're way too powerful and influential to endorse who he is and what he stands for…So many people who love you feel so betrayed right now because they know the harm that Trump's policies cause, especially to people of color,' one of John's messages read. 'Don't let this be part of your legacy.' At the time, Kanye said he shared the private texts online 'to show that there are people around [him] that disagree with [him] and voice their opinion.' As we know, Kanye's problematic behavior only got worse over the years, resulting in his divorce from Kim in early 2021. Since then, the rapper's vitriolic hate speech online has rightfully left his reputation in ruins. Now, commenting on his former collaborator's public downfall during a new interview with the UK Times, John considered the drastic changes in Kanye's personality since they first met as budding artists. 'Back then Kanye was very passionate, very gifted, and he had big dreams not only for himself but also for all the people around him. He had so much optimism, so much creativity,' he said. 'I didn't see a hint of what we're seeing now, his obsessions with antisemitism, anti-Blackness, and it is sad to see his devolution.' The Oscar-winning artist also acknowledged how his proximity to Kanye in the early 2000s took his career to the next level after being 'turned down by labels everywhere.' 'Kanye blew up after producing Jay-Z's album The Blueprint in 2001,' he said. 'Then he experienced a buzz as a solo artist and the whole time I was traveling with him, doing shows with him, getting exposure not only as his singer and keyboard player, but also as an artist myself. Then The College Dropout sold 400,000 copies in its first week, everyone wanted to know what was happening in our camp.' He added: 'All those people who turned me down suddenly decided that my music sounded a lot better than it did the first time round.' It's no secret that Kanye was deeply impacted by the death of his mother, Donda West, in November 2007. Notably, John weighed in on the widely theorized belief that 'there was definitely a difference' in Kanye from that point onwards in terms of his problematic behavior. 'His descent started then and seems to have accelerated recently,' he said.
