Beaverdam man arrested after shooting, injuring Lima man

May 21—LIMA — One man was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being shot by another man during the evening hours of Friday, May 16, on Lima's east side. According to press release from the Allen County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched at 10:02 p.m. May 16 to the 5900 block of North Napolean Road in reference to a shooting. Deputies located the victim, Brandon Jones, 37, at the Pilot Travel Center in Beaverdam, where he was transported to a local hospital by Beaverdam EMS with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the press release. Deputies approached the residence where the shooting took place, where they took Brandon Deeds, 31, of Beaverdam, into custody and booked him into the Allen County Jail for felonious assault. Jones and his unnamed girlfriend, who is the ex-girlfriend of Deeds, were near Deeds' property to retrieve a car mirror from the woman's car that Deeds broke earlier that day in an argument with the woman, Jones said in a phone call with The Lima News. Deeds fired three bullets at the couple, with one striking James in the back and another hitting a nearby guardrail, Jones said. The incident remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff's Office. According to an Allen County Sheriff's Office, Deeds has a $250,000 bond.
