He operated on Jedha and had connections with Saw Gerrera's insurgents, acting as one of Cassian Andor's intelligence contacts within the Rebellion. He appeared in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story during a covert meeting with Cassian Andor at the Ring of Kafrene. There, he passed on key information. Tivik was injured at the time and wore a makeshift sling on his arm. He showed high levels of anxiety throughout the encounter. He feared being captured by Imperial forces.
