Swope Art Museum announces Mardi Gras party
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Next month, you can celebrate Mardi Gras with the Swope Art Museum. The museum will be holding its annual Mardi Gras party on Saturday, March 8.
This year the event is sponsored by the Terre Haute Casino and Resort and will take place at the casino resort's Altitude Bar and Lounge. The event will include live music and food. There will also be a competition at the event to crown the Monarch of Mardis Gras.

Lauren Kelsheimer and Mark Clinkenbeard are competing for the crown, by raising money for the museum.
'We always try to add something different. We've had circus performers in the past. We might bring those back. We've had DJs. We've had bands, so we always try to add different elements. This year's going to be really special though. I guarantee you'll have a wonderful time if you come,' said Sara McCarthy, Assistant Director for Development at the Swope Art Museum.
The event is one of the many fundraisers held by the Swope Art Museum and this is the 17th year for the event.
