Altoona school district to offer free summer lunches for kids
ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — To make sure that children don't go hungry this summer, the Altoona Area School District will be giving out free meals.
The Summer Food Service Program will provide free meals to anyone 18 and under from June 9 to August 1. The summer menu will include 'kids' favorites,' like cheeseburgers, pizza and daily choices of fresh fruit and milk.
Here's where the food will be available Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.:
Altoona Junior High School
Juniata and Pleasant Valley Elementary
The district noted that there will also be adult meals available for $4.75, although they will only be accepting cash.
