Construction mafia halts mega bridge project
JOHANNESBURG - Residents of Amadiba in Port Alfred in the Eastern Cape plan to march to SANRAL's offices on Monday.
The community is demanding answers for the delay of the Mtentu bridge project.
The construction mafia has taken over, asking small contractors for up to R15,000 in 'protection fees'.
Once completed, the Mtentu bridge will be the tallest in the country.
Amadiba Crisis Committee spokesperson, Nonhle Mbuthuma, has more on this.
