Superintendent on possible Caddo Parish school closures According to a press release, Magnet's two top teams advanced to the final round, resulting in a 'sweep' of the state championship. The mock trial team is comprised of student 'lawyers' who take turns arguing and 'witnesses' who give testimony. The 2025 State winners included Adya Darsi, Amalia Wise, Anamika Nair, Gil Pedrotty, Kritika Joshi, Micaela Gafford, Siva Saikilappan, and Vennela Malireddy. The first-place team was coached by 1st Judicial District Judge Brady O'Callaghan and Defense Attorney Sarah Giddings and was assisted by civil attorney Steve Soileau. According to the release, Magnet High's Mock Trial Team has won several state championships, including last year, when they advanced to the Nationals in Delaware. This year, at Nationals in May, the team will argue its case against top-ranked teams from across the United States and outlying regions and territories. LSU Shreveport sees record enrollment for third straight semester 'In some schools, mock trial is an elective class with dedicated teachers, budgets, and credit hours for the students,' the release stated. 'The Magnet team, however, is solely an extracurricular club activity, dependent upon students, faculty, and attorney coaches to volunteer their time and talents.' The release added that many local attorneys and judges volunteer their time and efforts each year to make Caddo Magnet's Mock Trial team a success.
