Woman arrested in Oconee County on multiple burglary charges
OCONEE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – Deputies said a woman has been arrested this weekend on multiple burglary related charges.
The Oconee County Sheriff's Office said on Saturday evening, deputies received a call in reference to a domestic disturbance on Biggerstaff Road, around 7:30 p.m. A man told deputies that he had been assaulted by Amanda Kaye Lawing, 31, and that she had stolen a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado.
The victim told deputies that Lawing had drove the truck into a neighbor's yard and fled the scene on foot.
Deputies said that later that same evening, around 8:50 p.m., they received a call in regards to a disturbance on Biggerstaff Road. Deputies said that Lawing had broken into the home and was seen going through the refrigerator.
Lawing then went outside, after she was confronted, and began hitting the stolen Silverado, deputies said. She fled the home on foot and deputies said there was damage to the residence and vehicle, including broken windows on the truck.
She was located in a storage building at Chambers Hill Road. Deputies said a wallet that belonged to one of the victims was located on Lawing.
Lawing was arrested and charged with first degree burglary, petit larceny, malicious injury to personal property, malicious injury to real property, domestic violence, and use of a vehicle without permission.
She is being held on a $37,782.50 bond.
