Midway softball claims 6A D-1 State Championship
AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 44) — Midway avenged last season's runner-up performance by dominating Clear Springs 9-1 to clinch the 6A D-1 title.
The Panthers have been on a mission all season long and that showed once again, with the Panthers jumping out to a two-run lead in the thanks to a RBI singles from Lanee Brown and Amaya Locke.
In the third Inning, Midway exploded for five run two-out rally that took advantage of multiple walks and two errors.
Peyton Phillipp earned the games MVP by tossing a complete game with 11 strikeouts while only allowing one run to cap off a monumental season.
The Panthers end the season with a 32-3 record and brought home the first State Championship since 2010.
