Amazon India adds five fulfilment centres ahead of Prime Day

Amazon said it has added five fulfilment centres to its India network ahead of the Prime Day sales event. Under this expansion, the ecommerce giant has opened fulfilment centres for the first time in Indore, Bhubaneshwar, Kochi and Rajpura, it said in a statement on new Amazon fulfilment centres have a combined capacity of 1.8 million cubic feet, the company said. These facilities will be operated and managed by strategic partners and boost delivery speed , it added. They will also create full-time and part-time job opportunities around them, Amazon said, without disclosing the exact number of vacancies."These five new fulfilment centers represent a significant investment in our operations infrastructure and demonstrate our commitment to our customers and sellers across India," said Abhinav Singh, vice president-operations, India and Australia at week, Amazon announced an additional Rs 2000 crore investment to expand and upgrade operations infrastructure, improve associate safety and well-being programs, and develop new tools and technology for its fulfilment this week, Amazon India announced that Prime Day 2025 will be held from July 12 to July 14. This year, Prime members will get early access to new product launches from both Indian and global brands as well as small and medium businesses across categories, including home and kitchen, fashion, grooming, jewellery, electronics, and Amazon announced that it delivered more than 41 crore items the same day or the next day during Prime Day 2024. Prime members also saved an average of over Rs 3,300, the company claimed.
