Fred Sirieix 'gutted' as TV show is 'axed' despite 'great run' with Emma Willis

Fred Sirieix fronted The World Cook alongside Emma Willis, but the TV travel and cooking show has now been cancelled after two popular seasons on Amazon Prime Video First Dates and I'm A Celeb star Fred Sirieix has faced a significant blow after his TV show The World Cook was reportedly axed, despite drawing in a strong audience. The travel and cooking competition, which first aired in 2022, featured 16 international chefs battling it out by whipping up traditional dishes from various countries they visited. Co-hosted by Emma Willis, the series took the contestants to exotic destinations such as Mexico, Thailand, and Croatia. However, despite the show enjoying two successful seasons on Amazon Prime Video in collaboration with TUI, The Sun claims that it won't be returning for a third series. A source told the outlet: "Fans loved watching Emma and Fred on The World Cook and will be gutted it won't be back any time soon." ‌ The insider added: "It was a major show for both hosts, too, as it was their first foray into presenting for a global streaming channel, with the series going out around the world. ‌ "It had a great run and everyone who worked on the show was pleased with it, but it felt like it had naturally come to the end of its course." The first two seasons are still available to stream on Amazon Prime. Prime Video has also been contacted regarding the reported change, reports Belfast Live. For those who are craving more of Fred on their TV screens, he is set to appear in the next season of Who Do You Think You Are? where he'll delve into his family history and may uncover surprising facts about his ancestry, including questions about his French heritage. The upcoming episode airing May 27 will see Zoe Ball, the former presenter of the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, on the programme. A television insider divulged to The Sun about the much-anticipated guest appearance: "Fred probably isn't top billing on the series, but he'll certainly have one of the more interesting family backgrounds. "Though he's famous for being French, his family history is likely to throw up quite a few surprises as he goes on his gene". The insider also shared that producers are keeping the surprises tightly sealed at the moment. They added: "He recently discovered he has some surprising ancestry, so the programme might take him in that direction - but producers are keeping everything under wraps."
