Movie Tea: 'Orphan 3″ In The Works; Keanu Reeves & Sandra Bullock Reunite For Untitled Film
New movie tea just dropped, and it's awesome! From a much-demanded horror sequel, to a reunion of the world's sweethearts – here's this week's lowdown on new developments in the world of cinema. 'Orphan' Greenlit For A Third Instalment After years of waiting for any news on the cult horror film 'Orphan' fans will be happy to know that the pint-sized killer is back for another instalment. Not only that, but it has been confirmed that Isabelle Fuhrman will return to play her devilishly iconic role as Esther, and joining her on this venture will be David Coggeshall and William Brent Bell, who will be writing and directing the film, respectively. This bit of news was announced by the film's production company, Dark Castle Entertainment, with Lionsgate set to launch the movie at the American Film Market later this week. The Co-CEO of the entertainment company, Norman Golightly, stated that 'Dark Castle is excited to announce another terrifying chapter in the 'Orphan' saga. With the past success of the first two movies and another thrilling storyline, we are confident that 'Orphan 3' will be a must-see movie for both current fans of the franchise and new fans alike.' The details of the plot are, naturally, kept under wraps, and that's for the best. Fans of the original film know that the plot revolves around a major plot twist and that the sequel explores said twist further. If you haven't watched either film, it's highly recommended that you do so in preparation for 'Orphan 3.' Though many have said the franchise is wacky and outlandish, others stand by it. It is a cult film for a reason. Though it has received mixed reviews from critics and fans, we cannot deny that the franchise has grossed a combined US$125 million globally to date and catapulted Fuhrman's acting career. Where the third instalment will take us is anyone's guess, but we'd be lying if we said we aren't excited for it. Reeves & Bullock Reunite For Untitled Amazon MGM Film After years of being apart, the dynamic duo of Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves is back! Known for their 90s classic action film 'Speed' and the romantic drama 'The Lake House,' Reeves and Bullock are once again sharing the big screen, as they've been attached to a yet-to-be-revealed romantic thriller. However, it's not just these two who will be reconnecting, as they will be joined by Mark Gordon, the producer of 'Speed.' Noah Oppenheim will also be writing the script for the film. Though details are under wraps for now, the upcoming project has been described as 'propulsive.' As to what that may allude to is anyone's guess. What we do know is that, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Gordon and Oppenheim brought the idea for the project to the two veteran actors, and they collaborated to develop the film further. Each person brought their own respective companies to help bring the film to reality: Bullock with Fortis Films, Reeves and Gordon through The Mark Gordon Company, and Oppenheim with Prologue Entertainment. Though we may not know what this film is or what it's about, we have a feeling that it's going to be great, just by past experiences alone. 'Speed' is still fondly remembered by action aficionados around the world and is said to be the film that defined the 90s cinema scene. The ''Die Hard' On A Bus' blockbuster has maintained its mass appeal all these years thanks to the leading stars' chemistry, which still endures.

AFM Set To Return To L.A. For 2025 Edition; Location Revealed
The American Film Market is set to return to Los Angeles this year following a poorly received 2024 edition in Las Vegas. AFM 2025 will run November 11-16 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City, next to Beverly Hills. More from Deadline Leading U.S. Film Companies Inform IFTA They Won't Return To Las Vegas For AFM In 2025 & Will Set Up Their Own Market & Screenings In LA If Need Be; IFTA Responds Independent Film & Television Alliance Announces New Members Of Its Board Of Directors Water At L.A. Beaches In Part Of Malibu Closed Until Further Notice Due To Potentially Toxic Runoff 'Our return to LA holds special significance in the aftermath of the recent devastating fires,' Jean M. Prewitt and Clay Epstein, the respective President/CEO and Chairperson of event organizer the Independent Film & Television Alliance, said in a statement. 'It will be heartening to gather as colleagues here once again, where AFM started, and in doing so to take part in the rebuilding of the city that is a vital hub of our industry.' Read their full announcement below. The news is likely to be very well-received by many in the industry who struggled with the Palms Resort venue in Vegas. The Fairmont has ample space and is close to good restaurants and most of the agencies and other major film companies. We understand the decision to return the event to L.A. has ended the possibility of a breakaway sales event in the city. As Deadline revealed late last year, a group of leading U.S. film sales companies had informed the Independent Film & Television Alliance that they wouldn't be returning to Las Vegas in 2025 and were prepared to set up their own bespoke market and screenings event in Los Angeles if need be. The plan seemingly sharpened the resolve of AFM organizers and the decision has been taken by the IFTA board to return the event to Los Angeles. We spoke to two dozen delegates during the last AFM who were unhappy about the Palms and Vegas as a location for the market. The confab was plagued by negative reviews from delegates who complained about long lines at the Palms elevators, a bad lobby experience, poor food options, the expense and lack of atmosphere. Above all, many missed the opportunity to combine the AFM with other meetings in Los Angeles. IFTA defended the Vegas choice to us last year, saying the Palms emerged from an extensive search across a handful of cities, ticking off boxes on accessibility, price, screening rooms and sheer availability. But they also acknowledged that a change back to L.A. might be a possibility, and so it has come to pass. Here is the full announcement: After an extensive evaluation of multiple venues across Los Angeles to meet the industry's specific needs and size, the IFTA Board of Directors has selected the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City as the new home of AFM. It is ideally situated just minutes from Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, and Westwood and next door to the AMC Century City 15 for screenings. Newly renovated, the Fairmont is a perfect blend of prestige, accessibility, amenities, and pricing consistent with recent return to LA holds special significance in the aftermath of the recent devastating fires.
