Did Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir Go Shopping Before Trump Meeting? Viral Video Sparks Buzz
The video, which appears to show Munir walking inside a mall, has gone viral online, with netizens wondering if he took out time from his official visit for leisure
Did Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir go mall hopping in the United States ahead of his meeting with US President Donald Trump? A widely circulated video on social media has netizens guessing the whereabouts of Munir who is currently on a five-day official visit to the United States.
Trump is scheduled to meet Munir over lunch on Wednesday, just weeks after a military escalation between India and Pakistan in May after 26 innocent people were brutally killed by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22.
The video, which appears to show Munir— the 11th Chief of the Army Staff of the Pakistan Army—walking inside a mall has gone viral online, with netizens wondering if he took out time from his official visit for leisure. News18 could not verify the authenticity of the video.

The caption for the video, which was shared on Facebook by the Pakistan Tribune, read: 'Pakistan's Field Marshal General Asim Munir and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Spotted somewhere [Shopping Mall] in the US."
When asked about the veracity of the video, Grok, the AI chatbot developed by Elon Musk's company xAI, said the video is 'likely false or exaggerated".
However, some social media handles were not as kind. While one user called him a 'jobless man", another was quoted as Hindustan Times by saying: 'It seems he is being kept away so that he doesn't meddle in the US plans of using Pakistan's land and resources for an offensive against Iran (if needed)."
Munir's US trip did not begin on a savoury note as he was heckled soon after he reached a hotel in Washington. Overseas Pakistanis and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf activists raised slogans such as 'Pakistanio ke Qatil" and 'Islamabad ke Qatil" while Munir was being welcomed at an event in Washington DC.
The demonstrators allegedly shouted 'shame on you, mass murderer" and 'shame on you, dictator" as he arrived.
