Fundraiser to honor American Sniper Chris Kyle
Waco, TX (FOX 44) — A special 'Painting with a Purpose' fundraiser hosted by Waco's Painting with a Twist is honoring the legacy of 'American Sniper' Chris Kyle on his birthday to support the American Valor Foundation.
The event is being held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at 1621 N Valley Mills Drive in Waco.
Chris Kyle was a decorated U.S. Navy Seal Sniper, widely known as the most lethal sniper in American military history, with 160 confirmed kills during his four tours in the Iraq War. He served from 1999 to 2009 and became known for his skill, bravery, and dedication to protecting his fellow soldiers.
Kyle dedicated his post-military life to helping veterans, co-founding Craft International, and working with those suffering from PTSD, but tragically was shot and killed in 2013 at a Texas shooting range by a fellow veteran he was trying to help.
'We've had so many people support us and show up and donate more and more that we've been able to exceed our goals every year,' says Painting with a Twist CEO Ken Castello. 'We're over a couple thousand dollars every time. And that's our goal.'
Chris's legacy lives on through various organizations, including the American Valor Foundation, which supports veterans and their families.
Painting with a Purpose is a charitable event series by Painting with a Twist, where guests participate in a guided painting class to support a nonprofit. All proceeds from this event will benefit the American Valor Foundation.
