Lynching death: SDPI workers protest in Madikeri
Madikeri: Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) workers protested over the death of a Wayanad man in a mob attack in Mangaluru and demanded the resignation of home minister G Parameshwara, holding him responsible for the attack and killing.
The workers gathered in front of the market at Madikeri during Thursday late evening and shouted slogans against the govt.
Speaking on the occasion, SDPI district unit president Amin Mohisin said the statement given by the minister before the investigation reflects his mindset. Moreover, he spoke like a leader loyal to the RSS, he contended.
He said that it is unfortunate that the govt has ignored this serious case. He demanded that the govt should immediately order a judicial enquiry into the case. The family of the deceased should be given Rs 50 lakh compensation, he demanded.
District vice-president Mansoor Ali, secretary Bashir, city president Rizwan, and others were present.
