Hélio Sousa Requests $2.5 Million to Coach Al-Ahly, Replace Koller
Amir Hagag Al-Ahly officials have entered into negotiations with Portuguese Hélio Sousa, the former coach of the Bahrain national team and Qatari club Qatar SC, to take over as coach of the Red Team, succeeding Swiss Marcel Koller, and ahead of the club's participation in the Club World Cup. Souza requested $2.5 million annually to agree to coach Al-Ahly and his assistant staff, who he will accompany to coach the Red Team. Hélio Sousa previously achieved great success with the Bahraini national team, contributing to their West Asian Cup title. He also took over as coach of Qatar SC last season, but his success was unsuccessful. Al-Ahly obtains US visas for El-Nahhas and Youssef in preparation for the World Cup
Amir Hagag Al-Ahly's administrative staff has begun the process of issuing U.S. visas for Emad El-Nahhas, the interim head coach of the football team, and Mohamed Youssef, the club's sporting director. This preparation is for their participation in the Club World Cup, which will take place next June. Emad El-Nahhas, the football director who is currently serving as the acting head coach, conducted the team's training session yesterday for the first time.
