Gombak district police chief Assistant Commissioner Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said the accident occurred at Km4 of the highway, heading from Kuala Lumpur towards Gombak, near the Taman Samudera Selatan exit. Police were alerted to the incident at 9.23pm the same day. "Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was riding from Sentul to Sri Gombak at around 4.30am when he is believed to have collided with the rear of a lorry. The make and registration number of the vehicle have yet to be identified. "The impact of the crash caused the victim to suffer internal injuries. He was pronounced dead while receiving treatment at the Emergency and Trauma Department of Kuala Lumpur Hospital," he said in a statement. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving. Police are urging witnesses or anyone with information to assist in the investigation by contacting Traffic Investigation Officer Inspector Amira Abu Hassan at 019-6026596 or the Gombak district police operations room at 03-61262222.
