Nagpur's Vaibhav, Dhanashri win Asian yoga gold medals

brought laurels to the city by winning gold medals in the second Asian yoga competition, which concluded at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi.
The city's star yoga exponent, Dhanashri, once again lived up to her billing when she emerged as the Asian champion in the senior women's singles artistic category of the three-day event.
The 23-year-old Vaibhav, a member of the
Amit Group
of
Schools
and Amit Sports Academy, won a couple of gold medals in both the artistic and rhythmic categories. After winning the artistic group gold medal, Vaibhav underlined his supremacy in the rhythmic pair event.
A total of 12 events were organised in various age categories. The Indian contingent, under the guidance of Nagpur's Sandesh Khare as coach of the men's squad, won a total of 83 gold medals and a silver in New Delhi.
For the last seven years, Vaibhav has been practising yoga under the guidance of Khare at the Dighori-based academy. Nagpur's Bharat Delikar also brought home a yellow metal by emerging as the champion in the bending forward category.
