Fest's Day 15 plays delve into women's turmoil

Lucknow: Plays inspired by stories of struggle were staged on 15th day of drama festival at UP Sangeet Natak Akademi on Sunday. Dramatised versions of stories 'Seedhi' by Amita Dubey, 'God Bharai' by Sandhya Sinha and 'Octopus' by Vibha Chandra were staged. All plays were directed by Sangam Bahuguna and Vikas Srivastava. In 'Seedhi', the plot revolves around a poor man who aspires to be an IAS officer and gets married to a widow who has a child. After marriage, he works hard and becomes an IAS officer but after achieving his goal, he does not consider his wife worthy of himself and tries to divorce her. In the end, all his efforts prove to have gone in vain. 'God Bharai' sheds light on struggle women face to achieve goals in life. The plot of the play revolves around a teenager who is too shy to share anything with anyone and gets trapped as if in the clasp of an octopus. In the end, after struggling with his anxiety, fear, and confusion, he finds a reliable person to discuss his problems with.
