Ammanford Farmers Market to take place at Victorian Arcade

On Saturday, May 3, Ammanford Farmers Market will be held at the Arcade Plaza near Margaret Street Car Park. The event is being organised by The Secret PlantHouse – a business run by Cameron Reardon and James Mordue that replaced Arcade News on December 6, 2024. Our aim is to bring life to the other side of Ammanford and bring more attention to the arcade. We are hoping to introduce people to the area who perhaps haven't visited Ammanford before which could benefit tourism. 'We have tried to offer things in the market that are not known in Ammanford. But we are sticking to businesses based in Carmarthenshire. There will be a good variety of products, and we want the market to be authentic. 'Other businesses have jumped on board. One local business even cancelled their trip to another market so they could come and take part in this one. 'The local council has also been fantastic with helping us to get licensing. It feels like the whole community is very appreciative of what we are creating.' A range of local businesses will attend the market. Ammanford Farmers Market will feature food, crafts, plants, gifts and more from local businesses. Locals can expect a variety of products. Then show up, have a wander, grab a treat, and support the people behind the stalls. Even just popping by makes a huge difference! This isn't just a market. It's a movement. If we want to keep something this special… we've got to show up for it. 'Don't miss out – bring your mates, your nan, your dog and your tote bags! Let's make some noise, Ammanford.' Cameron continued: 'Things have been going fantastic at the shop. We have expanded our gardens into the shop opposite us and now we are looking to hire more staff on a part-time basis.'
