MoU worth Dhs1 billion signed to develop and expand Ajman Port

Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Department of Port & Customs Ajman (DPC), and Hutchison Ports, a global port investor, developer and operator, for the expansion and development of Ajman Port's infrastructure with a joint investment worth Dhs1 billion. Under the MoU, a development plan will be drawn up for Ajman Port in accordance with the best global practices. The goal is to enhance handling efficiency in terms of performance, safety, and operational speed; attract new shipping lines; align with digital transformation plans; and launch AI-powered programmess for port operations through an integrated 15-year plan aimed at managing, operating, and developing the port, solidifying its position as a vital logistics hub in the region. Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi stated: 'We welcome the signing of the MoU between the Department of Port & Customs Ajman and Hutchison Ports, which paves the way for a strategic, exceptional, and vital project that reflects the status of Ajman and supports its Vision 2030, enhancing its leadership and competitiveness on the global economic map.' Sheikh Ammar added, 'The Emirate of Ajman enjoys a developed and attractive investment environment, supported by a continuously evolving business ecosystem and the opening of new horizons for local and foreign investment. We believe that port development is an investment in the future of trade, food security, and economic growth.' The Crown Prince of Ajman emphasised that developing Ajman Port will play a key role in stimulating the local economy by supporting supply operations and facilitating export and import activities through the provision of sustainable, eco-friendly infrastructure, while focusing on developing national talents and equipping them with modern port management skills. The MoU was signed by Sheikh Dr Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Department of Port & Customs Ajman, and on behalf of Hutchison Ports by Andy Tsoi, Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa Division at Hutchison Ports. Sheikh Dr Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi stated that the MoU reflects the aspirations of H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, and Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, to establish strategic partnerships focused on technology transfer, expanding investment opportunities, and building an integrated operational system based on the highest international standards in maritime and logistics operations. He noted that the MoU marks an important step in reinforcing Ajman Port's position as a strategic hub in the UAE's and the region's maritime transport network, especially since this partnership has proven its effectiveness and success at Ajman Port since 2011. Ajman Ruler directs dispatch of 410 tonnes of urgent humanitarian aid to Gaza in Ramadan

His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, has directed the dispatch of 410 tonnes of urgent humanitarian aid to Gaza during the Holy Month of Ramadan, with the close follow-up of Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of Ajman Executive Council The second phase of aid for Gaza has been launched as part of the UAE's Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 to provide urgent humanitarian assistance for Gazans, involving the participation of four prominent charitable organisations in Ajman: Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Charity Foundation; International Charity Organisation; Al Ihsan Charity Association; and Al Etihad Charity Foundation. The relief convoy includes essential food supplies, hygiene kits, and other humanitarian necessities aimed at alleviating the suffering of affected families in Gaza, particularly as winter intensifies and conditions worsen. Sheikh Rashid Bin Mohammed Bin Ali Al Nuaimi, Director-General of Al Ihsan Charity Association, said that the Association has dispatched the aid convoy carrying food and essential supplies to support the Palestinian people in their difficult humanitarian conditions. "This initiative reflects the UAE's spirit of generosity and commitment to humanitarian efforts, ensuring that the Association continues to actively contributes to humanitarian aid, in line with the UAE leadership's philanthropic vision.' Sheikh Ali Bin Mohammed Bin Ali Al Nuaimi, CEO of Al Etihad Charity Foundation, said: "This initiative embodies the UAE's deep-rooted humanitarian approach, established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who made generosity and humanitarian relief a core value of the nation's policy.' Dr Khalid Al Khaja, Secretary-General of the International Charity Organisation, stated: "The air and sea bridge established by the UAE serves as a lifeline for thousands of affected families in Gaza. It reflects the highest forms of generosity in supporting our brothers and standing by them in these difficult times." Tariq Al Awadhi, Director-General of the Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Charity Foundation, said that UAE's Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 has significantly alleviated the hardships faced by Gaza's residents, eased the suffering of the most vulnerable groups, and provided them with essential needs. Through such initiatives, the UAE continues to solidify its position as a leading supporter of humanitarian causes, reinforcing the values of generosity and solidarity with affected communities.

Ajman government employees to work 100 per cent remotely on Fridays during Ramadan

The Department of Human Resources of the Ajman Government has announced a 100 percent remote work policy for all local government employees on Fridays during Ramadan. The initiative, directed by His Highness Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of Ajman Executive Council, aligns with the UAE's "Year of Community" efforts. According to a circular issued by the department, official working hours during Ramadan will be from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday to Thursday, and from 9:00 pm to 12:00 pm on Fridays. The circular grants government entities flexibility in implementing the remote work policy in line with the Ajman Government's regulations, ensuring business continuity and uninterrupted service delivery. For departments operating on a shift basis, working hours will be determined based on operational needs, with a maximum shift duration of five and a half hours per day. The circular allows a flexible work system at the Director-General's discretion, ensuring employees complete required hours and maintaining adequate staffing in customer-facing units for service efficiency.
