Darlington woman pleads not guilty after child injured
A woman has pleaded not guilty in court after a one-year-old was seriously services were called to a house in Waltham Close in Branksome, Darlington, on the afternoon of 26 May, and the child was taken to Cave, 20, denied a charge at Teesside Crown Court of causing or allowing a child to suffer serious physical harm. Craig Neill, 26, who faces the same charge, did not enter a plea. Both were remanded in custody. Two charged as Darlington baby 'critically injured'
Two people have been charged after a baby was seriously services were called to a house in Waltham Close in Branksome, Darlington, at 13:45 BST on Monday.A one-year-old baby with critical injuries was taken to Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary for further treatment, Durham Police Neill, 25, and Amy Cave, 20, have been charged with causing or allowing a child to suffer serious physical harm. A 24-year-old man was released on bail.A force spokesperson said: "The baby remains in a critical condition and is continuing to receive treatment in hospital."The pair are due to appear in Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court later.A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We received a call at 13.45 on Monday 26 May to reports of a person unwell at a private address in Darlington.
