After Blake Lively's lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, Kevin Costner is now sued for rape by a stunt performer

Kevin Costner, actor and director, is being sued by a stuntwoman named Devyn LaBella, age 34. LaBella worked as a lead stunt double for actress Ella Hunt on the film 'Horizon, An American Saga - Chapter 2.' She claims she was forced into an unscripted and unplanned rape scene during filming, directed by Costner. LaBella is accusing Costner of sexual discrimination and harassment. On the day of the scene, LaBella was only scheduled to perform a non-intimate stunt, as per reports. Suddenly, new scenes were added where actor Roger Ivens would be on top of Ella Hunt, violently pulling up her skirt. Ella Hunt got upset because the scene was violent, had no intimacy coordinator, and wasn't planned, so she walked off the set, according to the report by USA TODAY. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Remember Tiger's Ex-Wife? LaBella says she was not warned that Ivens would mount her or pull her skirt. She only realized while it was happening. She says Costner told Ivens to repeatedly simulate a violent rape without giving her any notice, prep, or safety measures, according to reports. There was no intimacy coordinator present during this scene. The scene included Ivens pretending to unbutton his pants, pinning her down, and aggressively moving her skirt. Costner didn't tell them when the scene started or ended, which made LaBella stressed and confused. Live Events LaBella's undergarments were exposed and she was on her period, which made her feel extremely humiliated. She said between takes, Iven's hands were resting on her bundled-up skirt near her vagina. The actors' union SAG-AFTRA has rules, any nudity or sex scene must have the performer's written consent at least 48 hours in advance. LaBella says she got no notice, no contract rider, and no time to say no. The scene was shown on monitors for the whole crew, even though it was a sensitive scene and the set should have been closed, according to the report by USA TODAY. A day earlier, a different scripted rape scene was filmed with full prep and planning. That day, everything was safe and clear. But the second scene had none of those safety steps. After the incident, LaBella felt shocked, embarrassed, and humiliated. She started going to therapy after filming ended to deal with what happened. Kevin Costner's lawyer, Marty Singer, said the claims are not true and that what LaBella did doesn't match what she is now saying. Singer said LaBella is a "serial accuser" who has worked with the same lawyer on past cases. He added that Costner always makes sure sets are safe and wants everyone to be comfortable. Singer said the scene was explained to LaBella, and she even did a rehearsal with another actor. He claims she gave a "thumbs up" to her stunt coordinator to show she was fine doing the scene. That evening, she had dinner with the stunt team and seemed "in good spirits", with no complaints. Singer also shared a "cordial" text message from LaBella thanking the coordinator for 'these wonderful weeks', as stated by USA TODAY's report. FAQs Q1. Why is Kevin Costner being sued?
